Collection: Outdoor Structures

Launching soon. We are adding a full outdoor structures line — motorized louvered pergolas, shade structures, carports and gazebos. Nothing is listed yet, but if you are planning a project now, email info@garagetoolsstorage.com or text (888) 949-4945 and we will price it, check lead times and help you size it before it goes on the site. Send photos and rough dimensions and you will get a more useful answer than any spec page can give you.

What an outdoor structure has to survive

An outdoor structure is the one purchase on this site that has to stand up to weather every day for twenty years. That changes what matters. A garage lift is judged on capacity; a pergola is judged on span, load and how its finish holds up in sun and freeze-thaw.

Fixed roof, open lattice, or motorized louvers

An open lattice pergola gives you filtered shade and the classic look, but it does not keep rain off a table. A fixed solid roof gives you true shelter and lets you run a fan or heater underneath, at the cost of light into the rooms behind it. Motorized louvered roofs split the difference — the blades rotate closed for rain and open for light, and most close automatically on a rain sensor. Louvered systems cost several times what a lattice kit costs, and that gap is the single biggest decision in the category.

Attached or freestanding

An attached structure ledgers into the house and needs flashing done properly, because a bad ledger detail is how water gets into a wall. A freestanding structure avoids that entirely and can go anywhere in the yard, but needs four posts and footings rather than two.

Span is what drives price

Beam depth climbs quickly with span. Going from a 12-foot to a 20-foot clear span can mean a heavier extrusion, larger posts and deeper footings — so the jump is rarely proportional. If you can live with an intermediate post, you will usually save more than you expect.

Loads and permits

Snow load and wind rating are not marketing numbers; they are what your building department will ask about. Many jurisdictions require a permit for any roofed structure over a certain footprint, and some require engineered drawings for attached structures. Check before you order, not after — it occasionally changes which product you can legally install.

Materials, honestly

Powder-coated aluminum will not rot, warp or need refinishing, and carries the longest warranties — it is what most motorized louvered systems are built from. Wood looks the best on day one and needs sealing every few years to keep looking that way. Vinyl is the low-maintenance budget option and is best in smaller spans.

Freight is part of the price

These ship as long, heavy crates on an LTL truck, not a parcel van. Plan for a curbside delivery, a clear path from the street, and hands to move it. We will tell you the crate dimensions and weight up front so nothing arrives you cannot handle.

Want first pick?

Email info@garagetoolsstorage.com or text (888) 949-4945 with the footprint you have in mind. We will tell you what is arriving, when, and what it costs delivered to your address. Prefer to phone? Leave a message on (888) 949-4945 and we will get back to you.

In the meantime, see garage elevators and attic storage lifts or safes.
