Getting bikes off the floor for good

Bikes are awkward to store: too heavy to lift overhead comfortably, too bulky to lean against a wall without losing a parking space, and too valuable to leave outside. A motorized bike lift raises them to the ceiling with a button press, and brings them back down at riding height when you want them.

How it works

The GG8220 uses a hook and strap system driven by a 220 lb motor. Bikes hang from the straps, the motor takes them to the ceiling, and the floor beneath is clear — usually enough to recover a full parking space in a two-car garage where bikes had been living along one wall.

Why powered beats a manual pulley

Manual pulley hoists are cheaper and work, but they need rope handling on every use, they are awkward with a heavy e-bike, and the friction that makes them safe also makes them slow. A powered lift removes all of that, which matters most for the bikes you actually ride — a system that is a chore to use ends up unused, with the bikes back on the floor.

Before you install

The single most common oversight is the garage door: check that raised bikes clear both the door panels and the opener rail through their full travel, with the door fully open. Confirm the ceiling framing above the mounting points can carry the load, and that a power outlet is within reach. Measure your ceiling height and the height of the tallest bike, including any rack or child seat that stays fitted.
