Collection: Proslat Slatwall Panels

Slatwall turns a bare garage wall into storage you can rearrange. Panels screw to the studs, hooks and baskets drop into the horizontal grooves, and nothing is ever permanently fixed — move a bike hook six inches and there is no hole to patch. These are the Proslat panels on their own; if you want panels, trim and hooks together, start with the bundles.

Three panel lines, and how to choose

PVC slatwall

The original Proslat panel: solid PVC, completely waterproof, and unaffected by the damp and road salt a garage wall actually sees. Available in White, Charcoal, Light Gray and Sandstone. This is the right choice for most garages and the least expensive way to cover a large wall.

PROCORE

A heavier-duty core that carries more weight per hook. Choose PROCORE where the wall will hold the genuinely heavy things — loaded bike racks, long ladders, engine stands, bulk tool storage — rather than yard tools and cords.

PROCORE+

PROCORE construction with a decorative face: Gray Wood, Carbon Fiber and Silver Gray Carbon Fiber. The same load capacity, but it reads as a finished room rather than a utility wall. The line to pick if the garage is also where people stand around.

Sizes and pack counts

Panels come as 8 ft x 4 ft sheets (32 sq ft each) and 4 ft x 4 ft sheets (16 sq ft), sold singly and in 2, 3 and 4 packs. A 2 pack of 8x4 covers 64 sq ft, a 3 pack 96 sq ft, a 4 pack 128 sq ft — the pack names tell you the coverage, which is more useful than the panel count when you are measuring a wall.

Working out how much you need

Measure the width of the wall and the height you actually want covered — full height to the ceiling is rarely the goal, since the useful zone is roughly waist to just above head height. Multiply the two for square feet, subtract windows, doors and the garage door track, then add about 10% for cuts. Buy the pack that covers the total; a spare panel costs less than a second freight charge.

Common questions

Do I need trim as well?

Not mechanically, but it is what makes the wall look finished — starter trim at the bottom, top trim at the top, side trim on open ends, H-trim at panel seams. See slatwall trim, and work the quantities out from the run length rather than the panel count.

Can slatwall go over drywall?

Yes, and that is the usual installation. The screws must reach the studs behind it though — drywall anchors alone will not hold a loaded wall. Find and mark your studs before the first panel goes up.

Can it go on bare studs or concrete block?

Both work. Bare studs are the easiest case. Block needs masonry fasteners and, usually, furring strips to give a flat plane to screw to.

How much weight will it hold?

Each panel line has a rated load per linear foot, listed on the product page. In practice the limit is nearly always the fixings and the framing rather than the panel — a wall properly screwed into studs is enormously strong; the same panel on drywall anchors is not.

Are Proslat panels compatible with other brands' hooks?

Standard slatwall accessories generally fit, but groove spacing and profile vary between manufacturers. If you already own hooks, check the spacing against the panel specification before assuming.

Can I paint them?

PVC and PROCORE panels are coloured through or finished from the factory and are not intended to be painted. Choose the colour you want to live with.
