Collection: High-Security TL-30 Safes

Hayman's TL-30 Safes carry an Underwriters Laboratories TL-30 rating, meaning each unit has been tested to resist a professional safe technician working with common hand and power tools for a minimum of 30 minutes. Built with heavy composite or steel bodies and high-security relocking hardware, these safes are the choice for jewelers, pharmacies, gun dealers, and businesses that hold cash or inventory valuable enough to warrant insurance-grade, laboratory-tested burglary protection.

What TL-30 actually certifies

TL-30 is not a marketing term and not a manufacturer claim. It is an Underwriters Laboratories classification awarded only after UL technicians attack the safe's door and front face with the tools a professional would genuinely bring — carbide drills, high-speed grinders, power saws, impact hammers and pressure devices — and fail to open it within 30 minutes of net working time.

"Net" is the important word. The clock runs only while tools are actually cutting. Changing a blade, repositioning, letting a grinder cool: none of it counts. A real attack that reaches 30 minutes of net time has usually been underway far longer, and has made a great deal of noise doing it. That is why insurers frequently rate cover differently for contents held in a TL-rated safe, and why jewelers, pharmacies, firearms dealers and cash-intensive businesses specify one.

How TL-30 differs from a B-rate safe

A B-rate safe describes its steel — typically a 1/4-inch body and a 1/2-inch door. That is a real barrier against opportunistic entry with hand tools, and for most homes and small businesses it is proportionate. TL-30 is a different category: a 6-inch composite door, a 2-3/4-inch barrier body, and independent verification against power tools. You are buying tested resistance, not a specification sheet.

The MagnaVault range

All four MagnaVault models share the same construction: a 6-inch thick door including boltwork, a 2-3/4-inch composite body, three-way active boltwork, a tempered glass relocker and a drill-resistant hardplate. They differ only in size and mass:

  • MV30-2618 — 6,020 cu in (3.48 cu ft), 2 adjustable shelves, 1,115 lbs
  • MV30-3820 — 10,460 cu in (6.05 cu ft), 3 adjustable shelves, 1,470 lbs
  • MV30-6126 — 28,710 cu in (16.61 cu ft), 4 adjustable shelves, 2,620 lbs
  • MV30-6729 — 36,917 cu in (21.36 cu ft), 4 adjustable shelves, 3,060 lbs

How the glass relocker works

A tempered glass plate sits behind the lock. If an attacker drills, punches or torches toward the lock mechanism, the glass shatters and releases spring-loaded secondary relockers that permanently freeze the boltwork. The practical consequence is that defeating the lock no longer opens the safe — the attacker has to cut through the body instead, which is exactly what the TL-30 construction is rated to resist.

Fire protection is included

Every MagnaVault also carries a 120-minute fire rating, so a single unit covers both hazards. As with any fire safe, the rating is measured against paper; digital media should go in a media-rated insert inside the safe.

Plan the installation before you order

These safes start at over half a ton and reach more than a ton and a half. Confirm the floor can carry a concentrated point load of that size — a concrete slab is ideal — and measure every doorway, hallway turn and threshold on the delivery route against the safe's exterior width. Rigging is normally required. Anchor the safe once positioned: even at 3,060 lbs, bolting prevents tipping, which is how an attacker gains leverage on a door of this weight.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are the outside dimensions of the larger MagnaVault safes?

The MV30-6126 measures 67" H x 32" W x 27 1/2" D, with a 61 1/2" x 26 1/2" clear door opening. The MV30-6729 measures 72 3/8" H x 34 3/4" W x 29 1/8" D, with 67" x 29" x 19" inside.

What handle do the MagnaVault safes use?

Each has a heavy-duty 3-spoke vault handle along with a separate pull handle for opening the door.

What warranty applies to the MagnaVault safes?

The MV30-6126 and MV30-6729 list a 1-year parts and labor warranty.
