Is the Model 32 the right one for your garage?

The Model 32 is the larger of the two Versa Lift platforms: 250 lb capacity on a 28.75 x 56 inch platform giving 35 cu ft of usable space, against the Model 24's 200 lb and 15.3 cu ft.

The headroom question comes first

A Model 32 needs 60 inches (5 ft) of clear attic headroom above the opening for the platform to rise fully, compared with 47–48 inches for a Model 24. Measure from the top of the joists to the lowest obstruction above your intended opening — a truss web, duct run or low rafter — before anything else. If you do not have 5 feet, the Model 24 is the model to look at, regardless of what you plan to lift.

Why platform size usually decides it, not weight

Most attic storage is bulky rather than heavy. Holiday decorations, luggage, camping gear and plastic totes fill a platform long before they approach 200 lb. The Model 32's platform is more than twice the volume of the Model 24's, which in practice means fewer trips and the ability to send up a full stack of bins at once. If your storage is mostly large light items, the Model 32 earns its price even if you never come close to 250 lb.

Match the height range to your ceiling

Measure floor to ceiling in the garage and choose the matching range: 32C/W/M for 8–11 ft, 32CH/WH/MH for 11–14 ft, 32CHX/WHX/MHX for 14–17 ft, and 32CHXX/WHXX/MHXX for 17–20 ft.

Choosing the control type

C — corded remote: a hanging pendant control. Nothing to charge or lose, and the simplest thing to hand to someone else.
W — wireless remote: operate the lift from the attic side, from a ladder, or from across the garage. The usual choice for anyone loading and unloading alone.
M — wall switch: a fixed switch, the most robust option and the one to pick where several people use the lift or a remote would inevitably go missing.

Accessories worth considering
