Frequently Asked Questions
What can a 13,000W off-grid solar kit run simultaneously?
With a continuous 13,000-watt output and 26,000-watt surge capacity, this kit can comfortably run a 3-ton central AC unit, a 240V deep well pump, kitchen appliances (refrigerator, microwave, stove), clothes dryers, and heavy workshop tools like table saws or welders at the same time.
Can this system connect to a backup generator or utility power?
Yes. The NOVA 6548 hybrid inverters feature built-in AC inputs. You can program the system via the LCD panel to automatically shift to utility mains or trigger a standby auto-start generator if your battery bank drops below a specific voltage during extended periods of low sunlight.
What is the benefit of a 48VDC system over a 24V or 12V system?
At 13,000 watts, a 48V architecture significantly reduces current amperage running through the system wires compared to 12V or 24V setups. Lower amperage allows the use of safer, thinner, and less expensive copper wiring while dramatically cutting down on system efficiency losses due to heat.
What's included in this 13,000W complete kit?
This kit bundles Rich Solar solar panels totaling 13,000W, a LiFePO4 battery bank (see capacity in the specifications above), an MPPT charge controller, and a pure sine wave inverter for 120V output — check the specifications and product images above for the exact component list and quantities.
How do I work out runtime for my own setup?
Take the battery's watt-hours from the specifications above, then divide by the total wattage you intend to run at once. That gives hours at full draw. In practice most people run intermittent loads, so real-world runtime lands well above that figure, and solar recharging during the day extends it further.
Is this system expandable?
In most cases. Check two numbers before committing to an expansion: the charge controller's maximum rated input, and the battery's supported bank configuration. Exceeding either is how people damage a controller. Both figures are listed in the specifications above.
Is professional installation required?
Not for the DC portion, which is designed to be assembled without special tools. It becomes a job for a licensed electrician the moment you tie AC output into a building's wiring, which is a permitting and code question as much as a technical one.
Can I check the system from my phone?
On models that include it, yes — monitoring is built into the battery or inverter rather than added as a separate accessory, and reports state of charge, current draw and fault status. Confirm against the specifications above, as coverage varies across the range.
Which part of this system is likely to need replacing first?
Statistically the inverter or the charge controller, since they are the active electronics; panels routinely outlast their 25-year output warranty, and LiFePO4 banks are rated in thousands of cycles. That is worth knowing when you plan the install: leave the electronics accessible.
