Why angled rails beat a shelf
Totes stacked on the floor or on flat shelving have one failure mode: the bin you want is always at the bottom. Bin Warehouse racks tilt each tote toward you on its own rail, so every bin in the rack is reachable at any time, and the lid comes off where it sits. The rack also lifts everything clear of a garage or basement floor — which matters in any space that has ever taken water.
Choosing a model
- 8 Tote — the starter size. Fits a narrow wall or the space beside a car, and covers seasonal decorations for most households.
- 12 Tote — the common choice. Enough for decorations plus camping gear, sports kit and off-season clothing in one place.
- 12 Tote Compact — the same 12-tote count sized for smaller 18 to 22 gallon totes, so the frame is lower and shallower: 59" W x 58.5" H x 21.5" D.
- Heavy Duty 12 Tote — reinforced frame for heavier loads. Worth it for tools, hardware, tile, paint and anything else that makes a full tote genuinely heavy.
Common questions
Are the totes included?
No. Bins and totes are sold separately for every rack in this range. Each product page lists the tote size the rack is built for.
Will my existing bins fit?
The rails are sized for standard tote dimensions. Measure the footprint of the bins you already own and compare against the dimensions on the product page before ordering; deep or oversized bins from some brands will not seat properly on the rails.
Does it need to be anchored to the wall?
The 8 Tote, 12 Tote and 12 Tote Compact racks are freestanding and can be attached to the wall for extra stability. The Heavy Duty 12 Tote rack (65012) must be installed to the wall; the wall mount hardware is included. With any tall rack, load the heavy bins low.
How hard is assembly?
The racks screw together; a Phillips head power screwdriver with a #2 bit is the main tool needed. Time varies with the builder's experience, and a second person helps hold the frame square on the taller models.
Can I use these in a basement or storage unit?
Yes — they are just as useful anywhere totes accumulate. Getting bins off a concrete floor is worth as much in a basement as in a garage.

What is different about the Heavy Duty 12 Tote rack?
It holds up to 1,200 lb, has dual slide bars for totes of different sizes, and takes totes up to 20" x 17" x 20" deep at minimum and 32" deep at most. It carries a lifetime warranty.
What size totes fit the standard and Compact racks?
The 8 Tote and 12 Tote racks take bins 17" high and 18" to 36" deep, with 15 to 35 gallon totes or the 32 gallon Fold-A-Tote recommended. The 12 Tote Compact takes totes up to 17" x 16" x 17" (up to 21" deep), with 18 to 22 gallon totes recommended.
Are totes included with the Compact rack?
No. Bins and totes are sold separately for the 12 Tote Compact.
