This is the starter trim for Proslat PROCORE+ PVC slatwall. Each piece is 8 ft long and is the first thing you fasten to the wall. The bottom panel sits into it, which means this one piece sets the level for every panel that goes up after it. It is sold here in 2 pack, 3 pack, 4 pack and 5 pack sizes.

Where this trim goes

Starter trim runs horizontally along the bottom of the installation, below the lowest panel. Fit it first, get it level, and the rest of the wall stacks straight off it. If the starter is out by a small amount at one end, that error grows with every course you add, so this is the piece to take time over.

The four PROCORE+ trims each do a different job:

  • Starter trim — this piece — goes at the bottom. It is the first piece on the wall and sets the level for every panel above it.
  • H-trim covers a vertical seam where two panel sections meet side by side in the same run.
  • Top trim caps the top edge of the installation.
  • Side trim finishes the open left and right ends of the wall.

How many do I need?

Every piece is 8 ft. For starter trim, the measurement that matters is the full width of the installation at floor level — the horizontal run the bottom panel will sit on, in linear feet. Do not measure the height, and do not count panels.

Take that width, divide by 8, and round up to the next whole number. A 16 ft wall needs 2 pieces. A 20 ft wall needs 3, because 20 divided by 8 is 2.5 and you round up. If you are starting more than one wall, round each wall up on its own, then add the totals.

Common questions

Can I cut it to length?

Yes. This is PVC and it cuts cleanly with a fine-tooth blade. A miter saw or a fine-tooth hand saw both work. Cut slowly so the edge does not chip.

Does the finish have to match my panels?

Visually, yes. This is PROCORE+ trim and it is sized and finished for PROCORE+ PVC panels. It still shows along the bottom edge once the wall is loaded, so match it to the line you installed.

Can I add trim to a wall that is already up?

You can, but starter trim is the one piece that is much easier to fit first. On a finished wall you would need to lift the bottom course of panels to slide it under, so plan for it at the start if you can.

Which pack size should I buy?

Buy the pack that covers your rounded-up piece count with the fewest leftovers. If you land between two packs, go up rather than down — running short on the starter stops the whole installation.
